Terms of Use
Effective October 27, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Daniel Wu, the operator of BadRally (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the app you agree to them and to ourCommunity Guidelines and Privacy Policy. They are short on purpose; please read them.
1. Who can use BadRally
You must be at least 13 years old to use BadRally. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has reviewed these terms and agrees to them on your behalf, and we strongly recommend they help you decide who to meet in person. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you must be at least 16. You must also be able to form a binding contract where you live and not be barred from using the service under applicable law.
2. Your account
You sign in with a one-time email code or Sign in with Apple. Keep access to that email account secure: anyone who can read your email can sign in as you. One account per person; use your real identity (see the guidelines below). You are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete it at any time from Profile → Account.
3. Acceptable use and community guidelines
BadRally exists so people can find a fair game. To keep it that way, you agree to:
- Be respectful. Treat other players as you would at the club. No insults, slurs, threats, or intimidation, on or off the court.
- No harassment. If someone declines a game or stops replying, let it go. Do not send unwanted romantic or sexual messages, and do not contact people who have asked you not to.
- Real profiles only. Use your own name (or the nickname you go by), your own photo, and an honest skill level. No impersonation, no duplicate accounts.
- No spam or commercial use. No advertising, coaching solicitations, recruiting, scraping, or automated access unless we have agreed in writing.
- Stay legal and safe. Do not post anything unlawful, do not share other people's private information, and do not use the app to arrange anything other than badminton.
The full guidelines are at badrally.io/community-guidelines and form part of these terms.
4. Your content
You own what you post: your name, photo, bio, messages, and match records. So that the app can work, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and transmit that content to the players it is meant for, and to make copies for backups and abuse review. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups (removed within 30 days) and content other players have already received, such as messages you sent them. You confirm you have the right to post what you post.
5. Meeting people and playing
BadRally introduces players; it does not vet them. Use the same judgement you would meeting any stranger: play at public venues, tell someone where you are going, and report anyone who makes you uncomfortable. You are responsible for your own safety, fitness, and equipment, and for any injury that happens while playing.
6. Venue information
Court listings, fees, hours, and open-play times are collected from venues' own published information and checked by hand, but venues change their schedules without telling us. We make no guarantee that venue information is accurate or current, and planning a session in BadRally does not reserve a court. Always confirm with the venue before you travel. If something is wrong, tell us from the court page or atdaniel@keepersgrove.com and we will fix it.
7. Tips
BadRally is free. If you choose to leave a tip, it is a one-time In-App Purchase processed by Apple. Tips do not unlock features and are not refundable by us; refund requests are handled by Apple under its own policies atreportaproblem.apple.com. Prices are shown in the app before you confirm.
8. Our service
We work hard to keep BadRally running, but it is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past twelve months or US$50, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the conduct of other users. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.
9. Termination
You can stop using BadRally and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms or the Community Guidelines, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. Where reasonable we will tell you why. Sections 4, 8, 9, and 10 survive termination.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [your state], United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before starting any formal proceeding, please email us so we can try to resolve the problem informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved that way will be brought in the state or federal courts located in theState of [your state], and you consent to their jurisdiction, except that either party may seek relief in small claims court where eligible.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will notify you in the app or by email at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use BadRally after that date means you accept the new terms.
